Martin Gwynn

Martin has had a life long interest in Aviation. He has completed two theses on regional airport development as part of his BA and MSC degrees respectively. He also trained as a pilot with the University Air Squadron and was a member of the RAFVR. He still holds a PPL, flies regularly and is a frequent visitor to air shows and air museums and is a Friend of the Museum (1103). As Chief Executive of Gist Ltd, Martin has the extensive business background, experience and track record of delivery that comes with running one of the leading Supply Chain and Logistics Companies based in the U.K. with revenue of over £400 Million and over 5,000 employees. Amongst its 800 customers, Gist handles all Marks and Spencer's food distribution, and operates globally working with a number of airlines including British Airways. The company is donating road trailers to provide secure Museum artefacts storage. Martin has the capability to help produce a professional business plan for the museum, identify and negotiate with prospective sponsors at a senior level and act as a sounding board for new ideas. He feels that his enthusiasm and drive will help the Museum through this difficult period and on to the positive future it deserves.

Ken Bradley
Secretary & Admin

Ken Bradley

Ken has been a Museum volunteer since its inception in 1997. He helped renovate the hangars and prepared the shop for opening. After the Museum opened he helped run the shop for a year then became Shop Manager. Two and a half years later he became General Manager of the museum, a position he held for four and a half years. He retired from full-time service to have more time for his other interests but has continued assisting in the shop and stewarding duties when required. Since the closure of the museum Ken has been very active as the co-spokesman for the Action Group, spending a considerable amount of his time helping to find temporary storage for the aircraft and other exhibits, having discussions with Airport management and Christchurch Council and keeping volunteers and Friends informed. He is most concerned to ensure that the collection of aircraft remains in the Christchurch area and at the airport.

Richard Edwards
Projects

Richard Edwards

Richard joined Jet Heritage as the first volunteer in 1997 and was soon appointed as a full-time project manager to plan and manage the refurbishment of the hangars, recruit and manage volunteers and obtain sponsors. After the Museum successfully opened he returned to his own IT business but has since remained a Friend of the Museum and confidante to the managers. Richard helped form the Action Group and is its co-spokesman. He has been actively searching and negotiating for a new site on the airfield and storage space for exhibits. He has also used his wide range of business and training skills to negotiate resources for the move and to raise the morale of the volunteers and friends through website bulletins. In addition, he has used his marketing skills to produce written proposals for a new Aviation Heritage Centre to replace the Museum and successfully canvassed strong support from the local MP, the Mayor and Chief Executive of Christchurch Council, together with the local business community. He believes that his passion and dedication to ensure that the Museum has a long term future, his proven track record and positive outlook will be of benefit to the Museum as a trustee."

He has unsurpassed contacts in the aviation world which he intends using to help to promote the future of the Museum at the Airport in order for it to continue its unique position in the UK Aviation Heritage movement.
