Ken Bradley

Management & Finance
|
Ken has been a Museum volunteer since its inception in 1997. He helped renovate the hangars and prepared the shop for opening. After the Museum opened he helped run the shop for a year then became Shop Manager. Two and a half years later he became General Manager of the museum, a position he held for four and a half years. He retired from full-time service to have more time for his other interests but has continued assisting in the shop and stewarding duties when required. Ken was the co-spokesman for the Action Group, spending a considerable amount of his time helping to find temporary storage for the aircraft and other exhibits, having discussions with Airport management and Christchurch Council and keeping volunteers and Friends informed. Ken is most concerned to ensure that the collection of aircraft remains in the Christchurch area and at the airport. He is now responsible for the management and finances of the Museum.

Steve Rhymes

Workforce & Aircraft Activity
|
Steve has been an aviation enthusiast for the last 30 years and has built up many good relationships within various parts of the Aviation Industry and, especially, at Bournemouth Airport. He has been a Friend of the Museum for many years and was elected as Chairperson to the Aviation Museum Supporters club in June 2008 and, with a very good project team, managed to exhibit the Lightning Cockpit in the Town Centre during the very successful Bournemouth Airshow. His “day job” includes seeing many complex projects through from implementation to completion, by bringing together teams of internal and external suppliers, ensuring that they all work as a team in bringing the project within budget and timescale in a professional and cost effective manner. He has already formed a good working relationship with other supporters in carrying out projects for the benefit of the Museum. His role as a trustee will include ensuring that a suitable workforce is available to run the Museum safely and efficiently also to manage the teams that maintain and develop the aircraft and cockpits.
